Max Follmer is vice president of The Follmer Group, responsible for the company's marketing services practice. Max is an award-winning writer and producer with more than 17 years experience in journalism, digital content, marketing, and communications. Prior to joining The Follmer Group in 2019, Max spent six years at Promax, the global trade association representing the marketers, creatives and designers at the world's biggest media and entertainment companies. As Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications, Max served as the primary liaison between the CEO and the marketing team, leading day-to-day marketing strategy and execution, influencer outreach, PR, and communications. While at Promax, he conceived and executed multichannel marketing strategies for more than fifty campaigns to promote global conferences and awards competitions. He also led influencer marketing and audience development strategy to recruit and retain c-suite and executive-level entertainment marketing insiders and their teams. 
From 2009-2013 Max was Executive Producer, Digital Series and Franchises at Participant Media, the Academy Award-winning entertainment company. He conceived and produced new series and franchises — both original and branded content — for TakePart, the digital division of Participant. In 2013 Max was named a Webby Award honoree and SoCal Journalism Award finalist for producing "Civics in a Minute," a ten-part animated digital series on the 2012 elections hosted by MSNBC journalist Jacob Soboroff. 
During the 2008 Presidential Election, Max was the West Coast-based homepage editor and staff writer for The Huffington Post, working directly for Arianna Huffington from her home office in Los Angeles. He has also held positions at Troika Design Group and in the press shop for Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo during his final year in office. He began his career as a reporter for the Los Angeles Daily Journal. 
Originally from the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, he holds a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. He speaks fluent French, and is skilled in digital marketing (Mailchimp, Salesforce, Hubspot, WordPress, Microsoft Dynamics, Click Dimensions, Expression Engine, Drupal, SEO, Google Analytics, Facebook Business Manager, Litmus), project management (Airtable, Smartsheet, Lucidchart, Zapier), PR and publicity (press release writing, press event management, story pitching, rapid response, on-the-record spokesman, speechwriting, ghostwriting,) and writing and editing (AP Style, Chicago Style, copyediting).
